CSR: a good score for axon'

4 Jan 2017

Silver Award! This is the recognition level that Axon’ Cable has been awarded following a CSR evaluation led by EcoVadis on behalf of its customer Schneider Electric. This performance places Axon’ Cable among the top 30 % performers evaluated by EcoVadis, a company specialized in  CSR assessments.

Corporate citizen wanted!

The time when industrial companies assessed only services and products delivered by their suppliers has passed. Not only must the quality of the products be in compliance with customers’ requirements, the civic-minded behaviour of companies is also put to the test. The assessment of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) engagement is based on several criteria: environmental impact as each company has a footprint, social and Human rights (fight against discrimination, working conditions, training, career development, sport and health at work…), business ethics and responsible purchasing.  This evaluation takes three key indicators into account: the company policy, the implemented actions and the results.

Axon’ is involved in sustainable development

Axon’ Cable has been committed to meeting environmental challenges for several years. With its ISO14001 certification, the company limits its carbon footprint and has fixed its own objectives to reduce electrical consumption. The Axon’ group renovates, builds and equips its manufacturing sites in compliance with sustainability rules. Axon’ staff co-ordinate their effort to sort out waste and choose the most appropriate materials when designing products sold by the company.

Human beings at the heart of a CSR system

Axon’ wants to be a sustainable company which means having long-term relationships with all its partners. In addition to applying principles of business ethics and responsible purchasing, Axon’ Cable is OHSAS 18001 approved. The company has integrated in its strategy the management of health and security for its teams.

Good result but will do better

To assess our CSR performance, EcoVadis uses several recognition levels: none when no policies and actions are implemented, partial, confirmed (the company is clearly engaged in a CSR policy), advanced and outstanding. Axon’ Cable’s CSR has been rated as confirmed but the company plans to implement actions to improve its score and be rated as advanced.
