Spacecraft Chandrayaan II has just been launched to the moon. The space mission developed by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), includes a lunar orbiter, a lander and a rover. Goal: to soft land on the southern Pole of the moon and map the location and abundance of lunar water. Axon’ Cable has taken part to the adventure by providing wires and data transmission cable assemblies to the mission.
Axon’ Cable equips the Orbiter with MIL-STD-1553 data bus harnesses. Their role is essential as they transfer data to the electronic devices of the Orbiter. These reliable transmission networks offer high security of data, signal integrity, weight and space saving.
Walking on the moon
Axon’ contribution to the Indian project goes further. ESA wires manufactured by the company connect the Lander and the Rover and thus will help to transfer critical data from the darker side of the moon. These links will contribute to achieve scientific studies including Lunar Topography, Mineralogy, elemental abundance, and signature of Hydroxyl and water ice. After Mars, Axon’ Cable will also be on the moon.
