As of March 2018, Axon’ Cable isthe very first company ISO 45001 certified by AFNOR Certification and one of the first in the world. This new accreditation is a logical continuation for this company already ISO 9001 (quality) and ISO 14001 (environment) certified. This certification illustrates the Axon’ committed policy in term of Corporate Social Responsibility. Improving its employees’ health and safety, reducing occupational accidents and ensuring the best Quality Work Life are the key objectives for the French company. Because building a sustainable business while involving its management system and employees is crucial to Axon’ Cable.
ISO 45001 standard, the Occupational Health and Safety Management System
ISO 45001 is a new international standard for the occupational health and safety (OHS) of companies’ management systems. This standard will gradually replace the OHSAS18001 British Standard. This international management standard proposes guidelines and recommendations to better protect employees. Its purpose is to reduce occupational accidents number and also develop a healthy and reliable workplace around the world. This management tool can be used on a voluntary basis in order to remove or reduce risks while ensuring employees have the necessary skills to accomplish their tasks carefully. During the audit, Axon’ Cable has shown not a single non-conformity (either major or minor) and will be then one of the first companies to be certified ISO 45001.
Prevent, anticipate, protect
Prevention is better than cure! It is on this well-known adage that is based a strong and effective OHS management system. Through its Single Assessment Document for Professional Risks, Axon’ is setting up preventive actions to anticipate occupational risks and reduce them. As an example, the ergonomic workstation arrangement in office space and in production aimed to enhance the collaborator Quality Work Life. In addition, Axon’ is targeting in the next months to improve its crisis operation plan and organize training program for employees.
Occupational Health and Safety: It is a shared concern!
Axon’ ought to offer safe working conditions to its collaborators. However, these collaborators have also a key role to play in the decision making impacting their health and safety. Employees’ participation is also made through a program called Axionate, launched in November 2016 at Montmirail, where is located the company headquarter. This program aims to boost employees’ well being and conviviality with many activities based on 5 premises: well-being, sport, nutrition, hydration and exchange. Axon’ encourages its employees to declare systematically minor and near-miss accidents in a purpose of risks prevention.
A company focused on occupational health and well-being
Toward a 4.0 Health: With its software package AxoCare, Axon’ has developed with the collaboration of AMTER (Occupational Health of Epernay and its surrounding area Association) a measuring tool usable by the occupational physician or nurse during a medical examination. This module allows among others to evaluate employee motivation and stress level.
Axon’ is currently developing a brand new connected and more ergonomic test bench 4.0 in order to get more comfort and productivity. The purpose is to improve this monitoring tool by connecting it to gather maximum data and reduce musculoskeletal disorder.
